IMC-Lewes Presents November 2 & 3 Weekend Meditation With Luisa Montero
Insight Meditation Community of Lewes (IMC-Lewes) welcomes returning meditation teacher, Luisa Montero, for an evening Dharma talk and a full-day meditation retreat with the theme of “The Vicissitudes: Surviving Life’s Ups and Downs.”
Non, beginning and experienced meditators are all welcomed to attend this weekend of meditation and discussion.
Montero has been practicing Vipassana meditation since 1987 and teaching meditation since 1993. She completed the three-year Community Dharma Leadership program sponsored by the Spirit Rock Meditation Center. Luisa currently teaches a weekly meditation class in Takoma Park, Maryland, and leads day-long and weekend retreats in the Washington area.
The Dharma Talk (Buddhist teachings) along with discussion and refreshments will be held from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall on Friday November 2.
The full day retreat will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday November 3, also at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Parish Hall. Dharma talk, sitting and walking meditation, and lunch are included. If attendees can and would like to, they may bring a dish to share.
The suggested dana for Friday’s talk is $10.00 and $45.00 for the Saturday retreat, which includes lunch. For those with limited income, 50%, or any amount of the suggested donation offered is welcome. If budget does not allow for a donation, simply show up, no explanation is needed.
